Managing Director - Life Settlement — Plano, TX

Summary

The CSG Managing Director is responsible for leading life settlement investments. Investments include, but are not limited to, syndicated loans, bonds, structured products, direct (bilateral) loans and DIP/exit financings. Investments are generally sourced through intermediaries in primary markets and secondary markets, or negotiated directly with a borrower.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources
  • Manage multiple deals simultaneously
  • Analyze, perform due diligence, structure, document, negotiate and close deals
  • Manage deal process and coordinate interactions with counterparties, consultants, advisors, lawyers, and other outside parties
  • Prepare transaction presentations and materials for senior management and committee review and approval
  • Training and professional development of Senior Analysts and Analysts
  • As required, may hold other CSG duties and/or participate in projects for other areas of the banking organization

Qualifications (education, work experience, certifications, etc.):

  • Ten or more years of experience in life settlement transactions
  • Financial transaction-oriented business within lending preferred
  • Strong financial acumen including financial statement and credit analysis, business valuation, and life settlement policy valuation
  • Extensive experience with transactional contracts preferred
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or quantitatively oriented field
  • Experience with and working understanding of bankruptcy process/procedures a plus
  • High degree of honesty and integrity

Technical Accounting & Research Manager — Plano, TX

Summary

Beal Bank, one of the most successful privately held banks in the country, is currently seeking qualified, high-energy candidates for a newly-created Technical Accounting and Research Manager position.

This position is responsible for interpreting technical accounting literature, performing accounting research and advising on the accounting implications associated with the Company's business activities. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking accounting updates and assisting the accounting department through the implemenation of new accounting pronouncements, including designing any necessary training due to the implementations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist AVP, Accounting with daily tracking and monitoring of interest rate caps for accounting purposes
  • Research technical accounting and financial reporting requirements by the FASB, AICAP, and other standard setting bodies
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification of, and compliance with new and emerging guidance. Develop and manage implementation project plans as needed, including but not limited to CECL and Leases
  • Identify financial accounting and reporting risk exposure implications that might result from proposed standards. Interpret and propose solutions, including process changes where needed
  • Prepare comprehensive white papers detailing conclusions surrounding GAAP rules and impact to company transactions, where applicable
  • Analyze the impact of alternative accounting treatments for new transactions and perform other accounting impact studies as needed
  • Perform tax research, as needed
  • Serve as backup for certain regulatory reporting (QTL calculation)
  • Assist with audits as needed, including preparing certain schedules

Qualifications (education, work experience, certifications, etc.):

  • Degree in accounting required, Master's preferred
  • CPA a plus, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • 2+ years' experience in public accounting or banking industry
  • Solid communication skills, both written and oral

Actuarial Analyst — Plano, TX

Summary

The Analyst will be an integral member of deal teams, and will work closely with the senior-most professionals of the firm to execute transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source new investment opportunities, primarily through screening and analysis of publicly available information
  • Monitor and evaluate existing investments
  • Develop and utilize actuarial models
  • Build stochastic models and conduct valuation analyses

Summary

  • Responsible for the day to day trading of fixed income investments in the secondary markets
  • Perform fixed income market research

The Retail Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in overseeing the service and operations of a retail branch location. This position supervises and leads the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assumes management responsibility in the absence of the Branch Manager
  • Participate in CRA activities ensuring that all monthly goals are met or exceeded
  • Assists in managing customer service objectives including handling exceptions, complex issues, and complaints; monitoring and coaching of branch personnel. Handling of disciplinary action in a timely manner as needed
  • Performs and supervises day to day operational and compliance functions of the branch such as reconcilements, audits, reporting, controls, records management, approvals and opening/closing procedures

The Retail Banking Specialist is responsible for providing frontline support and service to current and potential customers ensuring all bank policies, procedures and regulatory compliance are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Process a variety of customer transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with bank policies and regulations. This includes the opening, servicing and closing of all account products offered by the bank (CD’s, Money Market, Statement Savings and Retirement Accounts)

  • Answer incoming phone calls, address customer questions and concerns and escalate any problems, concerns, or disputes to appropriate internal resources for resolution as appropriate

  • Enhances customer satisfaction and the professional reputation of the Bank, by warmly greeting, engaging, and developing good professional relationships with customers
  • Practices branch security procedures and protects customer confidentiality and privacy
