Senior Financial Analyst — Plano, TX

Summary

Founded in 1988, the Beal Bank family of companies is headquartered in Plano, Texas, and comprises one of the largest private financial institutions in the United States.

The Bank seeks a bright, hard-working analyst to work directly with the Chief Financial Officer. The analyst will work closely with the CFO and other senior professionals of the firm to review and evaluate a wide range of topics. Candidates should be curious problem solvers who are not easily discouraged and strive to find solutions even in tough scenarios. Individuals will be given as much responsibility as their experience and growing capabilities permit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the finance team in the developing and analyzing flexible financial models and perform ad hoc financial forecasting, analyses and modeling
  • Maintain scenario analyses integrating various hypothetical “what if” scenarios (e.g., changes in interest rates, market volatility, and potential acquisitions or divestures)
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations for distribution to the Board of Directors, executive management and various regulatory bodies
  • Retrieve and manipulate data from multiple sources and produce relevant analyses and charts at the request of the CFO and other senior management
  • Participate in various process improvement activities and other special projects (e.g., bank presentations, stress testing and liquidity analyses)
  • Ad hoc reporting and other miscellaneous projects as assigned
  • Excellent technical and analytical/quantitative skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex matters to multiple constituencies
  • Ability to see the "big picture" while maintaining a high attention to detail

  • Exceptional work ethic, with an ability to function effectively with deadlines and minimal supervision

Qualifications (education, work experience, certifications, etc.):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other quantitative disciplines required. MBA or Master’s degrees in Finance or other quantitative disciplines is a plus
  • 4-7 years of experience in the financial industry, with specific experience in the banking industry strongly preferred
  • Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or Business Intelligence software is a significant plus

Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting and Research — Plano, TX

Summary

Beal Bank, one of the most successful privately held banks in the country, is currently seeking qualified, high-energy candidates for a newly-created Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting and Research position.

This position is responsible for interpreting technical accounting literature, performing accounting research and advising on the accounting implications associated with the Company's business activities. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking accounting updates and assisting the accounting department through the implementation of new accounting pronouncements, including designing any necessary training due to the implementations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist AVP, Accounting with daily tracking and monitoring of interest rate caps for accounting purposes
  • Research technical accounting and financial reporting requirements by the FASB, AICAP, and other standard setting bodies
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification of, and compliance with new and emerging guidance. Develop and manage implementation project plans as needed, including but not limited to CECL and Leases
  • Identify financial accounting and reporting risk exposure implications that might result from proposed standards. Interpret and propose solutions, including process changes where needed
  • Prepare comprehensive white papers detailing conclusions surrounding GAAP rules and impact to company transactions, where applicable
  • Analyze the impact of alternative accounting treatments for new transactions and perform other accounting impact studies as needed
  • Perform tax research, as needed
  • Serve as backup for certain regulatory reporting (QTL calculation)
  • Assist with audits as needed, including preparing certain schedules

Qualifications (education, work experience, certifications, etc.):

  • Degree in accounting required, Master's preferred
  • CPA a plus, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • 2+ years' experience in public accounting or banking industry
  • Solid communication skills, both written and oral

Financial Analyst — Plano, TX

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the COO and other senior professionals of the bank to review and evaluate a wide range of topics. Individuals will be given as much responsibility as their experience and growing capabilities permit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Analytical tasks related to Bank operations, liquidity management and retail banking using Excel model building and maintenance of existing financial models
  • Evaluation of the financial position and operating condition of existing and potential critical vendors
  • Monitoring and reporting on the advertising, marketing and rate setting behavior of retail banking competitors
  • Becoming the primary back-up to the brokered CD issuance process
  • Assistance in the evaluation and implementation of internal and external tools to improve the efficiency of certain bank functions

Analyst - CSG — Plano, TX

CSG Investments, investment advisor to Beal Bank, pursues a value-oriented, opportunistic debt investment strategy across multiple industry sectors and debt structures. Investments are typically intended to be held to maturity, and include purchases of syndicated loans, whole loans, debt securities, mortgage-backed/structured products and selected direct originations.

Summary

In conjunction with or in the absence of the Branch Manager, directs and supervises the daily activities of the branch. The Retail Banking Specialist is part of a small hands-on team and will work directly with customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in greeting customers as they enter the bank lobby
  • Open and process documentation for new accounts, including IRAs
  • Process deposits and/or withdrawals
  • Complete verification of deposits and date of death valuations for estates & executors
  • Assist with opening daily mail in dual custody
  • Complete Currency Transaction Reports (when applicable) and forward to appropriate area for processing
  • Sell cashier’s checks, initiate wire transfers and issues temporary checks to customers
